Ariane V rockets four Galileo satellites into orbit
Incredible photographs of yesterday’s Ariane V launch carrying four Galileo navigation satellites for Europe. This was the 75th consecutive success of the Ariane V rocket since 2003, as well as its longest mission to date at almost four hours.
Liftoff occurred from ELA-2 at the Guiana Space Center near Kourou, French Guiana, at 8:06am EDT November 17.
Ariane V now has more consecutive successes than the Ariane 4 rocket, which flew 74 flawless missions in a row before its retirement in 2003.
